Does dmesg (or=20 /var/log/messages, if you've since rebooted) contain any matches=20 for "Out of memory"? One unsatisfying work-around for that is to build with=20 =2D-{max-jobs,cores}=3D1 to limit the number of build & make jobs if=20 you were previously building in parallel.
