Instructions to reproduce the issue
(address . 38447@debbugs.gnu.org)
0809eec5dcad48dace395012c09b1421@waegenei.re
I had the same issue on a Hystou P04 and managed to reproduce it several times.Attached to this email is the dump of the installer.
Start the installation process but try to make it fail, for example by removing the EFI partition during the guided partition, and when the "Installation failed" menu appear choose "Retrysystem install",on the right. Then restart the installation process with thesame choices and the installer will crash after selecting the keyboard layoutvariant.
Some time, if you wait for a few minutes before retrying the installation, thecrash won't be triggered but then the disk you partitioned during the firstinstallation process won't be available anymore in the disk selection menu.
The choices I entered in the installation wizard was:1. English2. United States3. Graphical install4. Europe5. Paris6. English (US)7. English (intl., with AltGr dead keys)

Hello !
Sorry for my late reply. This is strange because the error seems toindicate an issue with kmscon but you wouldn't get there if it was failingto start. Could you try to disable the NVIDIA GPU in the bios and reportback?
Thanks for your patience,

Hello !
You're hitting two problems. The first one is the one from the screenshot attached. Then, you seem to restart the installation and it fails with "Unable tolocate keymap update file" which is (sadly) expected, because installationrestart always fails. So we need to understand why the installer tries to build binutils insteadof relying on substitutes and why it fails.
Someone ?

Could it be that there was a transient networking issue at the time ofinstallation?
Thanks,Ludo’.
