When I use c-x m to send an email the data from the email in not being

stored in the mail-archive-file-name

You can just customize mail-user-agent back to sendmail-user-agent if

these differences bug you.

How about something like the following.

(I'm not sure if it will put the FCC file in the same directory as

mail-mode used to.)

Please try in your .emacs:

(setq mail-archive-file-name "whatever you had before")

(setq message-default-mail-headers

(format "FCC: %s\n" mail-archive-file-name))

This made the email send go into the FCC file.

I've installed the following change to make life easier for users of

mail-archive-file-name (and mail-self-blind and mail-default-reply-to):

* message.el (message-default-mail-headers): Change the default

value to ease the transition from mail-mode to message-mode.
