dear Guixers,

qBittorrent stopped working around the time when i reconfigured after the core-updates-frozen merge.

the new behavior is that it can connect to trackers, it gets the peer list, but when i switch to the peer list tab of a specific torrent, what i see is that peers keeps showing up and then immediately disappear.

the number of DHT connections also remain at zero.

on my router i can see UPNP opening the relevant tcp and udp ports, and there's no firewall on the computer itself.

nothing else seems to have changed in the environment, and qBittorrent on a windows machine works on the same network.

i have updated my local checkout to:

```
commit 7b5f7810a7461970e03bbc7bd25259589c63394a (HEAD -> master, origin/master, origin/HEAD)
Author: Mathieu Othacehe <othacehe@gnu.org>
Date: Wed Jan 19 10:58:47 2022 +0100
gnu: cuirass: Update to 1.1.0-11.9f08035.
* gnu/packages/ci.scm (cuirass): Update to 1.1.0-11.9f08035.
```

then i have issued:

```
$ ./pre-inst-env guix package -u qbittorrent
```

and now qbitorrent seems to work fine. may be relevant that the command resulted in a local rebuild:

```
The following package will be upgraded:
qbittorrent (dependencies or package changed)
substitute: updating substitutes from 'https://substitutes.nonguix.org'... 100.0%
substitute: updating substitutes from 'https://ci.guix.gnu.org'... 100.0%
substitute: updating substitutes from 'https://bordeaux.guix.gnu.org'... 100.0%
The following derivations will be built:
/gnu/store/hl19l4i2llf3z2h794i9p27amb0xn8vg-profile.drv
/gnu/store/z40jlbqv4s2wfz3jp072dsf0mvg3nd41-qbittorrent-4.2.5.drv
```

i'm not sure whether this has been fixed in master, or by the fact that it got rebuilt locally.

closing it because i don't see this anymore, and i have no idea what triggered this error, and what has resolved it.
